Double Drop Pendant Necklace – Blue Spinel, Rainbow Lavender Quartz (Splash 2009 Archive)

The oval here is cut like a briolette, checkerboard faceted front and back, which is why it glows instead of glinting: light passes through and comes back softer. A small rainbow lavender quartz cushion sits above it, flashing between lavender and electric blue, under an openwork swirl bail. It hangs from handwoven foxtail chain, dense and fluid. Bright silver, big color, none of it heavy.
